In this episode of #spotted, I had a chance to stop by the beloved Soho indie darling McNally Jackson Books. Located on 52 Prince Street, McNally Jackson is a hub of literary goodness, armed with a knowledgeable staff with Sarah McNally at its helm (don’t miss this delightful NYT write-up on Ms. McNally). The 2-level, bookstore is simply gorgeous with people constantly buzzing about, a calendar packed with a multitude of events from readings to festivals (one in particular is near and dear), and the infamous Espresso Book Machine, whirling out self-published copies by the minute. And for our own selfish purposes, we love McNally Jackson because it’s a dear friend of literature in translation. And saying friend isn’t nearly strong enough. They are a champion for literature in translation with dedicated shelves categorized by country and displays of books from abroad. Going in it I knew that there would be loads to capture and disappointed was I not; even the window displays got the international treatment. So check out what’s currently on display at McNally Jackson and hurry over and nab a copy or two of what you see!
Happy Browsing and Buying,
Brittany
